Born in Flint, Michigan, Miko Marks knows the power of music as liberation. Her journey, deeply rooted in her upbringing by a single mother advocating for equal rights, echoes in her music. Immersed in melodies from childhood, Miko's path led her to theatrical stages and even Carnegie Hall at 15, shaping her soulful sound. Despite detours into motherhood and a hiatus from the industry, Miko's passion never waned. Reuniting with former bandmates, she defied norms with albums like "Our Country" and "Race Records," sparking conversations and change. Recognized by CMT's Next Women of Country and the Equal Access Development Program, Miko's music resonates with authenticity and depth. With "Feel Like Going Home," released in 2022, she returns to her roots, weaving profound narratives that speak to the soul.
