After boarding your motor coach in Walnut Creek, your day begins in historic Old Town Sacramento. You will have time to explore the riverfront historic district, with Gold Rush-era buildings, cobblestone streets, horse drawn carriages, souvenir shops, sweet shops, movie memorabilia, antiques and more. As you experience your unique shopping opportunity, take time to enjoy a no host lunch in one of the many dining establishments. In the afternoon you will board the CA State Railroad Museum’s Excursion Railroad for a 50 minute roundtrip ride along the scenic Sacramento River, a glimpse of early 20th century railroading and an atmosphere of 19th century life. Cost includes 50 minute train ride, motor coach transportation, and driver gratuity (shopping expenses will be at your own expense--no host lunch in Old Town Sacramento). Level 2 walking trip--MUST be able to climb narrow set of stairs to board train coaches. No walkers/wheelchairs on train coach, canes are welcomed. Departure is from Heather Farm Lot 2. Proof Covid-19 vaccination will be required for trip.
