Bedford Gallery

The Bedford Gallery volunteer force is currently more than 120 strong! Opportunities are as follows:

Guild Members: Bedford Gallery Guild members staff the gallery’s front desk, greet visitors, provide visitors with information and monitor activities in the gallery. Guild members also host gallery receptions and participate in fund-raising activities. Guild members work weekday afternoons and some evenings during receptions. Contact: (925) 295-1423

Docents: Docents lead tours of gallery exhibitions for groups of children and adults. Docents receive special training in art history and effective touring techniques. Interns: Gallery interns receive hands-on experience in such areas as exhibition research and preparation, public relations, fund-raising and gallery administration. Interns use their skills with PCs and Macintosh computers, graphic design, writing and phone reception to help organize exhibitions, publicize events, and meet administrative needs. Interns are asked to make a full semester and/or a three-to-six month commitment. Interns must be receiving school credit or working towards a school project. Contact: (925) 295-1423

The California Symphony Alliance was created in 1991 and raises thousands each year to support the orchestra in addition to providing volunteer support for its education program Sound Minds and many other worthwhile events. Classy, Classic and World Class.  That's how we see the California Symphony.  Volunteers play a crucial role in the success of the orchestra.  The valuable time, skills and creativity of dedicated volunteers help keep the California Symphony's wonderful tradition of artistic excellence alive.
