The public’s health and safety is a top priority for city officials, but they can’t do it alone. Everyone needs to take steps to be ready for a disaster. Walnut Creek is at risk for earthquakes, landslides, flooding, and wildfires.
Get prepared by signing up for emergency alerts and making a disaster kit for your household.
Emergency Alerts
Stay informed in a disaster by signing up for emergency notifications from the City of Walnut Creek and Contra Costa County.
In an emergency, we’ll send alerts and instructions using WCAlert. You can get notifications by text message, email, or phone call.
Or text “WCALERT” to 888-777 to get alerts by text message.
We recommend setting up notifications for all the addresses where your family spends a lot of time, including your home, your office, and your childrens’ schools.
If you need help signing up, call the Civic Park Community Center at (925) 943-5852, Monday-Friday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
