The Code Enforcement Division is responsible for enforcing property maintenance, zoning, and building codes throughout Walnut Creek such as:

Smoking Violations

Violation of the City's No Smoking Ordinance must be reported directly to the No Smoking phone line at (925) 256-3535 or the No Smoking email inbox at nosmoking@walnut-creek.org.  Complaints are addressed M-F during office hours.

Unsafe Housing Conditions

If you are experiencing unsafe housing conditions, such as the ones listed below, please contact code enforcement by telephone at (925) 943-5863; via the Report and Issue button above; or by email at contactcodeenforcement@walnut-creek.org.

Compliance

We work under a model of voluntary compliance. This means that we try to avoid fines and penalties by providing a reasonable time allowed to meet compliance. In rare circumstances, we issue administrative penalties if someone fails to comply with the Municipal Code.

Confidentiality

If you report a violation, we keep your identity confidential. Collected contact information allows our code enforcement officers to reach out for additional information. No personal information is ever shared with other members of the public.
