We're thrilled to kick off our Quarterly Sustainability Business Highlight Pilot Program, shining a spotlight on local eco-friendly businesses in Walnut Creek. Do you know a green hero in our community? We want to hear from you! Nominate your favorite environmentally conscious businesses by emailing sustainability@walnut-creek.org with the business name and a brief description of their sustainability efforts.

To be eligible for nomination, businesses should meet the following criteria:

Restaurants (Meet all the following):

Has three-stream waste
In compliance with AB1276
Offers vegan/vegetarian options
Follows Styrofoam ordinance
Follows single-use bag ordinance

Other businesses (Meet at least one of the following):

Demonstrates a commitment to reducing their environmental footprint through practices like energy efficiency, waste reduction, and resource conservation.
Showcases innovative approaches to sustainability, whether through the development of eco-friendly products or implementation of circular economy principles.

Featured businesses will be showcased on our social media channels and may even have the chance to participate in a video interview. Let's come together to celebrate and inspire a greener community. Nominate your favorite eco-champion today!
