Residential Permit Parking

The Preferential Residential Permit Parking (PRPP) sets aside sections of neighborhoods to help ensure residents have a place to park near their home. PPRP passes are available for residential parking in these Walnut Creek neighborhoods.  

If you live in a PRPP area, you are eligible to apply for a permit.

  • You may apply for up to 3 resident permits. These permits are registered to specific vehicles.
  • You may apply for up to 2 guest permits for visitors. These permits are placed on the dashboard of guest vehicles.

Fees

Each permit costs $35 per year.  

Apply or Renew Residential or Guest Parking Permit

We accept applications and renewals by email and mail only.

1. Complete Application and gather documents:

  • For a new application or renewal complete the Parking Permit Application
  • Photo identification, such as a copy of a valid CA driver’s license, passport, etc.
  • Proof of residency, such as a copy of a current utility bill, lease agreement, rent receipt, etc.
  • Copy of current Vehicle Registration for residential parking permits

2. Email your application and documentation to dutytraffic@walnut-creek.org.

3. Pay fee

You may request to pay for your permit using Paypal. Email at dutytraffic@walnut-creek.org to set up payment. Paypal charges a 3% service charge to use a credit card.

4. Parking Pass issued

Once your permit is approved, staff will send your permit by mail.

One-Day Guest passes

One-Day Guest Passes are available to accommodate special events at your home. You may request up to 10 passes for a specific date by contacting the Traffic Engineering Division at 925-943-5899 x7582 or by email at DutyTraffic@walnut-creek.org at least one week before the event date. We will mail the passes to your home.
