Commercial Facilities
The City of Walnut Creek's inspectors inspect commercial and industrial facilities to ensure proper management practices and operational procedures are used to prevent pollution to our storm drain system. How frequently a business is inspected depends on its potential for contributing pollutants as determined by previous inspection results.
Inspections, typically occur during business hours, are designed to educate the business community in pollution prevention practices. Inspectors will review your business practices and will inspect outdoor and indoor areas with you. Upon completion, a written Inspection Report will be provided, and if needed, inspectors will conduct a follow-up visit to verify that all violations are corrected. Uncorrected or serious violations will result in escalated enforcement, up to and including fines.
