Development Pipeline List

The Development Pipeline List ("Pipeline") is a comprehensive list of development activity in Walnut Creek with the exception of smaller projects such as single-family residential home additions, use permits without construction, or minor commercial tenant improvements. The Pipeline is updated a minimum of once per quarter and was last updated on October 14, 2024

Projects are assigned one of five statuses: 1) Under Review, 2) Approved, 3) Under Construction, 4) Completed, or 5) Withdrawn:

  1. Under Review indicates a project is being reviewed by the City.
  2. Approved indicates a project has received its requested planning entitlements.
  3. Under Construction indicates a project has obtained building permits and is currently being built.
  4. Completed indicates a project has been built and is open for business. Completed projects remain on the Pipeline for one additional quarter before being removed.
  5. Withdrawn indicates a project application has been withdrawn by the applicant. Withdrawn projects remain on the Pipeline for one additional quarter before being removed.

Major Development Projects

Major Development Projects are a subset of the Pipeline List. These projects tend to be larger in scale or of very strong interest to the Walnut Creek community as a whole, and include proposals such as major subdivisions, affordable housing developments, or large-scale commercial construction. The Pipeline list denotes these projects through a "Major Project" attribute. The list below contains links to individual project webpages. In addition to basis project information, these individual project webpages are updated on an "as needed" basis with any applicable, supplementary information such as environmental (CEQA) documents, public hearing information, and more.

These projects can also be viewed on the Major Development Projects Map below. Check out the project map  to see where major developments are being planned or built in the City.
